Historic Monroe Michigan Facade Study of 1981

This facade study of 1981 was intended as a guideline for historic preservation of the Monroe central business district, and was partly funded with federal tax money.  Reference is made to this document by the Historic District Commission.  This body considers this to have the force of law depending on who you are and what you wish to do.

Monroe Bank and Trust (MB&T) has by far removed more historic structures for parking and an enlargement of their business than any other business.  However, MB&T has added great value to the incremental tax capture district downtown.
