Councilperson Linda Compora claims that Andrew Smith (Smith the Younger) should not be reappointed to the CPC because he cannot think outside the box whatever that means.  Perhaps Linda was only thinking of playing buzzword Bingo (look up  BullS--- Bingo on Google).

An example of thinking (inside the box)  was Andrew voting with the whole board unanimously to retain the scrap yard I-2 zoning as is at third street between the railroad tracks.  The board did this, in the webkeeper's opinion, because the city land use planner published the zoning map approved for publication in the Monroe Evening News and this was passed by the council.  In addition, there is no proof that it was ever zoned otherwise in the history of Monroe as a zoned city.  The property owners of the scrap processing facility came forward and explained that they wished the approved and traditional zoning be retained so they could proceed to use the property for its best purpose.  Property owners can sue and win if denied use of their land.  Again, wake up Linda.

Indeed Linda may need to pull her nose from wherever it is placed and sniff out the entire city.  John Iacoangeli was not a bad mayor—just a little loose with spending and appeared close to those empowered to enrich each other on the historical society, perhaps at the expense of the common good.  If John Iacoangeli has something to enlighten council on he could and would show up like the rest of us and speak his own mind.

John has more sense than to whip dead horse.  Any issue he has over zoning the historic homes known as the old village plat to R1C has the full support of the webkeeper.  Linda Compora could not understand the concept that you can like a person as an individual yet disagree with them on an issue.

Not everyone understands what a box magazine is.  The media may call them clips, an incorrect term.  The most notable rifle to use an en bloc clip is the M1 Garand.  The rifle Andrew is holding is an M1-A which is a a fully automatic M-14 having the receiver replaced with one not easily modified for automatic fire.  The M-14 or M1-A retain the rotating gas operated bolt of the M1 Garand.  The M-14 is one of the most effective combat weapons ever developed.  The cartridge is the Remington 308 which is a shortened version of the Springfield 30-06 which has slightly less velocity but retains accuracy as good (some can effectively argue better) than the 30-06 at ranges of up to 200 yards or so.  The 308 rifle is a favorite with SWAT teams based on effectiveness and adequacy for the purpose.

Please note that the M1-A and M-14 both have external box magazines hence Andrew had his hand outside the box.
