Judith Bass' E-Mail Opinion on Monroe Michigan Helicopters

Regarding the article: Helicopter draws hostility

I think it is necessary for the helicopters to take patients to other hospitals. I for one would probably have died of a heart attack last year, because Monroe Mercy didn't have room to place me in their hospital, and I was lifeflyted to St. V's and they took very good care of me. I am still here after being taken care at St. V's. I Thank God for the helicopters to transport us to hospitals that can have room for us.

Dear Ms. Bass,

Yes, we have God to thank for the skill of the pilots and staff who are aboard the Helicopter and the dedicated staff and Mercy Memorial Hospital.  My wife Marlyn and I are glad to live so near this excellent facility.  I think I can speak for all of our neighbors as well.  Yes, thank God for your prompt and effective treatment aided by helicopter medical transport

I can see you are an excellent reader and able to correctly understand Charlie Slat's excellent article.  Sometimes I question the loss of accurate reading skills because of so much television viewing and computer viewing.  Some responses lead me to wonder about the deficiencies in the Monroe County reading skills that only bias the reader to look for scandal where there is only honest truthful concern

Yes, we are appreciative of all services of the hospital including air transport if necessary.  My life has been saved on two occasions by the emergency room staff and prompt hospitalization for an acute infection.
