Why the Following Statement is Posted

This website is dedicated to the belief that history belongs to everyone and that everyone has a duty to preserve an accurate record of history for future generations.

Nearly all human history goes to the grave unrecorded and artifacts of civilization consigned to the dump. This is not to say that all history can be saved, but far too much is lost to human short slightness and the belief that any one person can own history.

This site was started by default and paid out of the webkeeper’s pocket.  Our library system had the best historical information and still does a superb job.  The county site had limited information.  The Tourism Bureau site was very poor and suggestions for help refused.  The Historical Society is a closely held operation of persons thinking themselves elite and above question.  Some appear to profit by running what appears a closed organization.

Some organizations are vexed by infighting and an officer not even living in the county may demand any reference to their River Raisin Massacre activities be removed or any link to their newly created web site removed.

Some unionists and petty politicians dislike my pro industry stance.  This is unfortunate because unions have made the cost of government and letting of contracts for commercial work unaffordable.  My perception is that we have lost much of our precious manufacturing base.  The union bosses take aim at city and county workers to replace the industrial workers that have lost their jobs.

Even so, we must thank the majority of persons, who believe in honest history and avoid those who could ruin our perception of history as it actually occurred if they could.  It is for them that this site is maintained.  The site also serves as a point of contact for persons with questions or quires.
